Why I Teach Music

I believe that anyone can learn music. Music is so much more than playing the right notes and rhythms. It teaches us how to work together, express ourselves, overcome challenges, and create something bigger than ourselves.

I want my classroom to be a place where every student feels welcomed, supported, and valued, regardless of their musical background or ability. I believe that making mistakes is part of learning and that growth is far more important than being the best musician in the room.

One of the reasons I fell in love with teaching was the first time I stepped onto the podium to conduct a band. In that moment, everything clicked. I realized that I didn't just love making music, I loved helping others discover what they were capable of.

My goal as a music educator is not only to help students become better musicians, but to help them grow into confident, creative, and compassionate individuals. I hope that every student who walks through my doors leaves with a lifelong appreciation for music and memories that extend far beyond the classroom.

My Philosophy

Every student belongs

No matter your background or experience level, there is a place for you in this program.

Every student can grow

Growth matters more than perfection. Mistakes are how we learn and improve together.

Every student deserves music

Music is a right, not a privilege. Every student deserves the opportunity to make music.
